June Emmerson

June is a teacher of creative arts and crafts. As musician she studied baroque violin with Catherine Mackintosh and has performed with numerous ensembles including the renaissance group Piva and Leeds Baroque Orchestra. June sings and plays violin, rebec, bass viol, recorder, crumhorn, rauschpfeife and hurdy-gurdy and is the group’s costumier.

Steve Heavens

Steve is a scientist running a small technology company. As musician he has also performed with Leeds Baroque Orchestra and Piva and directed his own early baroque group Foscarina. Steve plays early guitar, viola da gamba, violone, crumhorn, rauschpfeife and bagpipes and arranges much of the group’s music.

 

Steve Blyton

Steve has had a varied career in music starting in Lincoln repertory theatre, training in London, teaching music in Hertfordshire and Norfolk, and eventually in Community Education service in Cambridgeshire, engaged in large projects involving young people in East Anglia and encouraging rural communities with theatre and music projects.  He has sung with the BBC Symphony Chorus and with chamber choirs in Cambridge.  Steve plays harpsichord and is the group’s principal narrator/singer and percussionist.

Michael Sheehan

Mike started life as a boy chorister and has had a musical career in the Army playing brass instruments and singing in England, Scotland, Belgium, France and Germany. He now plays with numerous orchestras and bands in the West Midlands and sings with Shrewsbury Abbey Choir. Mike plays curtal, bassoon, crumhorn and sackbut.

 

 Thelma Williams

 

Thelma has spent her working life incarcerated in Universities working mostly in medical research, including periods in Norway and Papua New Guinea.  For many years she was a member of the Musicians of Clerkenwell playing Renaissance and Baroque music in concerts and recitals  over the north-west of England and is now a member of the Linton Consort. She plays recorder, crumhorn, rauschpfeife, viol and cornamuse.
